PRONE PADDLE TRAINING SESSIONS

 The best way to train for surfing is to go surfing.  But, for those times when the waves go flat, prone (or traditional paddleboard) paddling is an epic way to cross-train for surfing.

Prone paddling alternates between lying flat on the board and popping up to your knees, which works different muscle groups.  This creates an awesome core and upper body workout

Why should your grom add traditional paddleboarding to their traning program?  Glad you asked.

Prone paddling:

  • Increases paddle strength (which equals more waves for you!)
  • Improves your feel for the water and helps with timing when paddling into waves
  • Builds confidence while surfing bigger waves knowing you can paddle faster and more efficiently
  • Is on water strength training, building all of the muscles used while surfing.

TRAINING SESSIONS INCLUDE A BOARD AND PADDLE TECHNIQUE COACHING.

OPEN TO GROMS 10 YEARS AND OLDER.

Prone paddleboard training sessions are limited to 8 participants.

PADDLE BOARD CROSS TRAINING SESSIONS

MONDAY AFTERNOONS
4:00-6:00PM
BABY BEACH, DANA POINT HARBOR

These workouts are for kids ages 10 and up who want to increase their paddle strength and endurance for surfing.

-Workouts are open to returning paddlers, drop-ins and new paddlers

-Workouts will focus on technique and building paddle strength

-Workouts will also include balance training and intro to bump riding (open ocean surfing)
