OCEAN TRAINING SESSIONS
2 HOUR SESSION $125
These Ocean Training Sessions will focus on building confidence underwater in a less controlled environment.
Like the pool training Sessions, the ocean sessions will build upon the skills learned in the main WATERGROMS workshop; these two hour ocean sessions will include:
- Ocean Safety
- Breathing Exercises
- Depth Practice
- Freediving/Snorkeling Skills
Each session will begin with a brief meeting on the beach. From there, participants will move to a “shallow station,” close to the beach, potentially followed by a “deep station.” The deep station will be monitored by boat for safety.
Open ocean sessions will be conducted only when conditions permit. Each session is limited to a 4:1 student to instructor ratio to ensure the safety of all those involved.
The safety of our participants as well as our instructors is our first priority; and because of the unpredictable nature of the ocean, we will run courses only on days where we are confident that it is safe for everyone involved.
When it is possible to run open ocean sessions, we will run up to three separate sessions (based on the number of participants), each around 2 hours in length.
Ocean sessions will begin in June 2021 and will continue through the fall. Due to the unpredictable nature of the ocean, the exact dates of each session are weather dependent.
We reserve the right to change course dates at any time if conditions do not permit.
If course dates must be changed due to weather or conditions, we will either issue a full refund, or reschedule your course date at no extra cost, whichever is your preference.
The Ocean training sessions are open to those who have completed the basic freediving skills and the safety and rescue techniques covered in the WATERGROMS Breath Control Workshop.
If you or your child has not yet completed the WATERGROMS Breath Control Workshop, click here for more info about how to join the next course.
