A few weeks ago, I received a call from Joe Bark. It went a little something like this:
Joe: “Are you a princess or a pirate?”
Morgan: “I’m always a Princess!”
Joe: “Well then, how do you feel about going up to Lake Arrowhead during the first weekend in November to hang out with the Bark team? It will be great, we will go in the Jacuzzi, eat some bacon, paddle around, maybe shoot the next Bark/Quickblade/Maui Jim ad…basically we will just have a fun, relaxing time. I will even give you a ride up there so that you don’t have to worry about driving.”
Morgan: “Sounds great Joe, I’m in. See you then.”
What I didn’t know is that he was actually luring me up to altitude to train for the 50 (the 50 mile run on Catalina that is happening in January…Gemma explains here). He even has Gemma and Charlie in on the plan. We pulled up to his brother’s amazing house on Lake Arrowhead and before I knew it, we were going for a run in snowy 36 degree weather. Seriously, it’s snowing. The most evil/genius part of his plan is giving me a ride so there is no possibility for me to escape. The good news is that all of this gave me a chance to look super cool wearing my compression tights and socks.
