TRAINING SESSIONS
CATALINA OCEAN GROM SESSIONS
4 HOUR SESSION $200
Our Ocean training sessions are open to those who have completed the basic freediving skills and the safety and rescue techniques covered in the WATERGROMS Breath Control Workshop.
If you or your child has not yet completed the WATERGROMS Breath Control Workshop, click here for more info about how to join the next course.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Held in beautiful Emerald Bay on Catalina Island, our Catalina ocean sessions will focus on building confidence and skills underwater in a less controlled (but much more amazing) environment.
The day is split into two sessions that will build upon the techniques learned in the main WATERGROMS workshop.
During the day, we will cover:
- Ocean Safety
- Breathing Exercises
- Depth Practice (diving down comfortably in a wetsuit)
- Freediving/Snorkeling Skills
The day will be broken down into two sessions: a “shallow station,” close to the beach, where they can practice skills they learned in the pool. After a break to warm up and refuel, we will then move on to a “deep station,” or a snorkel adventure depending on the individual.
Both sessions will start with a brief talk on the beach and will be monitored for safety.
