The Power of Vulnerability

Being that it is Sunday afternoon and that I have been lazy and haven’t posted anything for awhile, I thought it might be time for a TED Talk. “The Power of Vulnerability” by Brene Brown is one of my favorites. This one is a good one for days like today when things seem a little off because it reminds you that it is important to keep a few things in mind:

1. To let yourself be seen–deeply seen
2. To love with your whole heart even though there are no guarantees
3. To practice gratitude and joy, even in those moments of terror…to choose to be grateful instead of catastrophizing the situation.
4. To believe that you are enough

…And speaking of being vulnerable, currently I am in San Fransisco. Yesterday we thought it would be fun to go race board surfing at a break called Bolinas just north of here. Upon paddling out, we discovered a huge dead seal floating in the lineup.

It might as well have been a lure. Talk about vulnerability; I’m stoked that I still have both of my feet.
